After a long and challenging returning season back at WVU, Head Coach Rich Rodriguez has announced that he will be leaving the University to pursue what he calls “bigger and better things”. Rodriguez’s coaching career at West Virginia spanned the glory days of 2001-2007, and more recently August 30th to September 1st, 2025.
When questioned on his decision to promptly leave WVU after a technical 100% win rate following a 48-3 win against Robert Morris University, he said that it was wise to “quit while one is ahead”. Rodriguez, colloquially referred to as ‘Rich Rod’ has stated he will be moving to Thailand to become a Shaolin Monk, in pursuit of “spiritual fulfillment”. Though he has declined to comment on possible ulterior motives behind his move, his Instagram and Twitter accounts show he has began following several Taiwanese ‘Ladyboys’, whose posts he has been liking invariably. We at the Sunnyside Instigator wish Rodriguez nothing but the best in his search for spiritual, and physical fulfillment.
